Hyundai dealers and Hyundai Motor America wanted a way to gear up support of a cause that we feel passionate about: pediatric cancer research and treatment. We also wanted to give back to the communities in which we live and do business. So we created Hyundai Hope On Wheels to do both...Hyundai joined the fight against pediatric cancer in 1998 through the efforts of Boston-area Hyundai dealers and their donations benefiting the Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Since that time, Hyundai dealers have been Helping Kids Fight Cancer with corporate contributions of over $8 million to hospitals across the country.

The more than 755 U.S. Hyundai dealers decided they could make an even greater impact if they took their message on the road. So in February 2004, the message went mobile, with an iconic white Hyundai SUV serving as a tangible, traveling symbol of hope on a journey across the country with the mission of Helping Kids Fight Cancer. 100% of the US dealer body contributes $3 for every car bought on wholesale to the Hope on Wheels program.
In 2005, we expanded our commitment to the cause even further by partnering with CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation. In 2006, a national 'spokes-kid' and a scholarship components were added to the program. These elements created even greater awareness and relevance for this important cause.

A national spokes-kid was selected from 38 applicants nationwide.
Ms. Francesca Amaudo is 10 years old and is a survivor from two bouts with cancer. She provides a face and reinforces the message of Hope that the program embodies. The scholarship program awards ten (10) $2,500 college scholarships to kids who have Childhood cancer, but are now attending college.

A total of 31 hospitals were awarded grants totaling $1.35 mill from the 2006 Hope on Wheels program.
