
Hence, philanthropy at Hyundai is not just about funding initiatives towards public welfare, but is a concerted effort by all members of the company including investment of one's time, experience, expertise and labor to drive continuous and sustainable development. Hyundai Motor India is not only committed to making vehicles that make the world better place to live in but also dedicated to meet or exceed societal needs which can benefit the society.
On Aril 10, 2006, this continuing commitment has led to the charter of the Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF).
The trustees of HMIF are President of HMIL, VP-GS. VP-Finance and Legal Advisor of HMIL. HMIF will get its direct funding from Hyundai Motor India (HMI). By way of contribution of Rs 100/- for every car sold domestically for carrying on its activities.
The objective of HMIF is to address the expectations of society and to initiate the concrete steps to extend support in the fields of Health Care, Educational and Vocational training, Environment, Road Safety, Natural calamities & Disasters, Art, Science & Culture and Technology.

Under these programs, HMIF has instituted different activities.
The first contribution of HMIF amounting to Rs 3,500,000 under the Scholarship Program was made towards preservation of the Senate House of Madras University, Chennai.
On April 13, 2006, HMIF also donated a Hyundai Accent car to CARE Foundation. CARE Foundation is a non-profit organization engaged in providing Health Care to people from economically weaker sections of the society and those living in rural areas. It is also engaged in affordable medical products.
The Hyundai Motor India family was overwhelmed when the President of India, His Excellency Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam called upon the company's management to congratulate and extend his best wishes after the launch of the foundation.
