As a leading auto technology and manufacturing company, HMC took early interest in systemizing the scientific methods and developing technologies for archery, helping the Korean archery community to adopt scientifically engineered sports equipments and training programs for the first time in Korea. For the qualitative growth of the game, HMC also conducted inspection and development of various archery equipments itself, making the Korean archers better equipped than any others in the world. Now, archery devices and equipments from Korea are popular among all archers around the world.The inauguration of Mr. Chung Mong-goo, the chairman of HMC, as the chairman of the Korean Archers Association in 1985 launched the International Archers Game in Korea, the most highly-prized competition available in the field of archery. HMC has made significant contributions to enhancing the players' abilities and skills as well. In an effort to increase public support for archers, Hyundai Steels and Hyundai Mobis also created their own archery teams. HMC also handsomely awards archers to have won at major international competitions.  Since their first participation in the LA Olympics in 1985, Korean archers have led groundbreaking records, garnering more than 6 gold medals in the female single games and 5 gold medals in the female group games. Male groups have also garnered 3 gold medals.
HMC and Korean archery are inseparable. They are partners in inspiring the Korean public and raising national morale.  |
