Even on fiercely cold winter days, Alice has to deliver newspapers around her neighborhood by in the morning and collect used papers and other recyclable materials in the afternoon to help support her family. Her room is often too cold for her to find a warmth after a long, exhaustive day. But she worries more that her baby brother might catch a cold in such a cold house.
An employee of HMC was stricken with grief when he found out about Alice's situation. He used to help A with her family's heating cost. He soon realized, however, that there are more Alice's in the world. It was then that he decided to propose to HMC a project of helping low-income households with fuel expenses during winter. This was the beginning of the Heating Fuel Support Campaign of HMC.
When the winter arrives each year, the needy in our community naturally worry since heating cost is such a big burden on them. The children and parents of our neighborhood may be secretly suffering as they are unable to afford the heating expenses. What can you do as an individual to help them?
