The Large Auto Technology Research Institute located in Jeonju is a latest-technology research center that conducts research and development of new equipments for the development of trucks and buses, futuristic designs, and ergonomic planning. The institute can perform all the phases of basic research and development of specialty (large) automobiles on its own. It is a major force behind the expansion of HMC across the globe.
Established in 1996, the LATRI consists of the design, test, and research facilities and possesses the latest technologies and equipments, including the CAD and CAE that help the institute to conduct independent research and development of over 100 models of cars.
