![]() ![]() By establishing overseas manufacturing plants, Hyundai Motor Company has created more than 15,000 jobs directly and accumulated 10 billion dollars of
FDI globally. Hyundai committed to the world economic development by global purchase through CKD.
In order to meet the explosively increasing demands of the Indian market, which is emerging as a leading global economy, and to expand exports to the European and Middle Eastern markets, Hyundai Motor Company plans to establish the a 600,000 annual production system in India by building the Indian Plant II with a capacity to produce 300,000 units. Additionally, in April 2007, the groundbreaking ceremony of Beijing Hyundai plant II along with the R&D center took place marking the beginning of the 600,000 unit annual production system in China. This will give Hyundai an advantage in the Chinese automobile market with the explosive consumer demands after 2 major events - the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and the Shanghai EXPO in 2010. For the European markets, a manufacturing plant with a capacity to produce 300,000 units annually is being constructed in the Czech Republic. As a result of Hyundai's enlarging and newly-established global manufacturing facilities and active investments, the economies of the host countries are growing at a rapid rate. Hyundai Motor Company leads a globalization movement by direct employment as well as indirect employment through cooperative enterprises and related industries. It is also engaged in purchasing automobile parts through developing localized parts enterprises and in a long-term economic revitalization through manufacturing and selling automobiles. Through all of these activities, Hyundai Motor Company plays a vital role in the economic growth of the host countries.
